Photo display design and installation

This display, featuring photography by Sarah Flotard, celebrates the close relationship between Tom Douglas’ Dahlia Lounge and Prosser Farm. Tom Douglas Restaurants approached Allison & Ross looking for a display solution to update the interior of Dahlia Lounge. The client wanted to showcase photographs of Prosser Farm in a clean, modern, yet rustic way. They also wanted a solution that would allow them to change out the photographs quickly and easily.

Design

Our proposed solution involved steel panels with hidden strainers attached to the wall with cleats. It is adjustable in that photographs are attached with magnets and can be changed out at will. We developed a custom finish for these panels that involved hand applying a black patina to each steel panel, giving them a high-end yet rustic finish. This treatment melded the elegance of Dahlia Lounge with the pastoral farm scenes in the photographs.

We supplied Dahlia Lounge with a concept proposal including 3-D digital renderings of layouts for each restaurant section, print and trim specs for the photographs, and installation schematics.

Fabrication and Installation

We then fabricated the panels and sourced all materials, delivered and installed the panels in one day between dining services, and mounted all photographs on site.
